I’m reading About Last Night by Ruthie Knox. My plan is to finish it this weekend. It’s a great read. I just haven’t had a chance to read the past couple days.
This week has been busy so I’m also behind in TV shows. I’m planning to get all caught up with them too.
What are you reading, watching, or doing this weekend?
I was thinking about my love of romance books and how must of the TV shows I watch have romance to varying degrees in them. I’m always look for that happily ever after (HEA) for my favorite couples.
In the TV shows, it can be frustrating at times. The show spans years and often my favorite couples have to go through many ups and downs to get their HEA. It can be heart wrenching sometimes especially if the writers don’t follow through on the promise they build up. In books, I know by the end that the couple will get their HEA.
On Psych, Shawn and Juliet finally got together. I did enjoy the build up to their getting together. Also, the writers have written their story so well that nothing was lost when they finally did get together. They relationship is even better.
On Castle, we were left with Castle and Beckett finally taking their relationship to the next level. Here’s hoping the writers follow through in the fall with advancing their relationship.
On BurnNotice, Michael and Fiona have a love that goes through good times, bad times, and really bad times. I love how they’ve always been together even when they weren’t technically together. You can see how their relationship has grown over the seasons. They would die for each other and not think twice before doing it.
On Rizzoli& Isles, I’m hoping Agent Dean will be more of a regular this season. I want to see his relationship with Jane progress. It returns tonight on TNT.
Oh how I could go on about the romances throughout my TV shows. These are the first ones to come to mind. I don’t necessarily watch for the romance, but the romances add another level to the shows that intrigues me.
Do you watch TV shows for the romance? Any romances in TV you want to see happen or enjoy watching?
This is the span between my network TV shows season finales and my cable TV shows season premieres. I’m re-watching last season of some of my shows to refresh my memory for the new seasons. I used to spend my summers only reading. However, USA hooked me on their shows and now I balance my summers with reading and TV watching.
This summer I’m watching:
Dallas on TNT – airs June 13 (I grew up watching the original Dallas. I’m curious to see if this one will measure up to the original.)
The Closer on TNT – airs July 9 (Last 6 episodes of the series.)
What are you watching? Do you have summer shows you enjoy or do you spend your time reading or enjoying another hobby?
The month of May brings season finales for ABC and CBS TV shows. Years ago these finales meant a summer of repeat episodes so I would have a summer of reading.
A few years ago, USA Network began airing TV shows that hooked me in the summers. Add in a show or two on TNT that I watch and my summers are now spent watching TV as well as reading.
I love the TV shows and find it hard not to watch them. The downside is I don’t have the time to read in the summer like I used to. I’m attempting to find a happy balance between the two this summer.
Do you prefer to read or watch TV? Or are you like me and try to balance both? Are you looking forward to the season finales of your favorite shows?
Tonight is the episode four seasons in the making on Castle. The season finale brings a promise of giving us Castle and Beckett fans the moment we’ve anticipated for awhile.
I’ll admit a few episodes ago I was unhappy. Castle let Beckett lying about not remembering everything when she was shot to go on as a misunderstanding. A simple conversation would have resolved it. Last week’s episodes was well done and made up for the previous two episodes. I liked how they talked about it without talking about it.
Here’s hoping tonight’s Castle episode exceeds my expectations. Plus, I’m happy to have McGarrett back on tonight’s Hawaii Five-0. I’ve missed him the past two episodes.
Do you watch Castle? What are your expectations for tonight’s season finale?
Tonight is Psych’s season finale. It’s true all good things must come to an end or at least end for the season. I’m already looking forward to next season.
Psych always makes me laugh. Great acting and fabulous writing makes for a must watch TV show for me.
Thankfully I have all the seasons I can re-watch to get me through the hiatus.
In the age of DVRs and fast forwarding through commercials, I’ve noticed more product placement within TV Shows. The ones I’ve noticed have actually been effective in getting me to consider buying the product.
Snyder’s of Hanover Pretzels have shown up in episodes Psych several times. I have to admit I found myself look at Snyder’s of Hanover products when I was at the grocery store and bought a couple of pretzel varieties.
I don’t mind the product placement when it flows with the story line and isn’t obviously just there for advertisement.
How do you feel about product placement? Like it? Hate it?
I’ve had a busy week with late nights and no time to read. No reading makes me sad. I’ve even managed to get behind in TV shows as well. So, this weekend I hope to start reading a book and get all catch up on TV shows. Oh and I need to finish my taxes. Ugh! I’d rather forget that last part. I should definitely reward myself with books when I get done with taxes.
What are you reading or watching this weekend?
I’m starting to feel better, but not quite up to reading this weekend. Instead of reading, I spent the weekend catching up on Psych. Somehow I got 6 episodes behind this season. With Psych returning on February 29, I needed to catch up.
Many great hours of laughter. I’m looking forward to its return. Laughter really is the best medicine. Psych provides that in spades.
